All Diamonds Are from Lesotho

Maseru, Lesotho - Two weeks ago, a 494 carat diamond was found at the Lets’eng Diamond Mine in Lesotho’s mountain region. It was sold at auction in Belgium for a little over $12 million after its discovery.
A minister in government summed up the sentiment of the nation. Speaking under condition of anonymity he said this:
“Clearly, we are the pimps of the diamond industry,” he said. “Have you seen a diamond this big any place else? No!”
The largest diamond ever found, the Cullinan, was the size of a bowling ball at 3,106 carats in the rough. That finished stone is set in Britain’s Imperial Sceptre as part of the Crown Jewels. It was also discovered in Lesotho.
“Like I said, the pimps of the diamond industry,” he reiterated. “In fact, our King has declared that any diamonds found any place else are just little shiny stones.”
When you’re finding rocks the size of small children, one can certainly make those types of claims.
